What is Included in the Background Investigation Report?
  • ABI offers a Level One Package that includes County Criminal Search, Credit Report, Social Security Verification, Motor Vehicle Report, Education and a 5 year Employment Verification. Everything you would need to make the best hiring decision.

Can I make up my own package?
  • Yes, you may tailor the package to meet your company�s needs; however, we do suggest the Level One because it offers the best overall picture to reduce exposure to negligent hiring and discrimination claims.

How exactly does this work?
  • After you have made the decision to offer the applicant the position, you would fill out a request form. This form is used as your cover page when faxing the request. Simply fill out the form and fax it along with the application and the waiver. We take it from there!

How long before I can expect the results?
  • As soon as we receive the results, we will compile the background investigation report. The standard turnaround time for the Level One will be 5-7 business days. Our goal is to get you the information as quickly and efficiently as possible.

How expensive will the process be to start and continue?
  • There is no monthly minimum, hidden fees or start up costs involved.  In the long run, by doing the pre-employment or tenant screening background investigations, you will be saving your company a substantial amount in possible liability.

How will I receive the results?
  • Requests and results can be sent though the internet at our web site, by mail, by email or by fax.  We will set up the service the way it works best for you.

What is my obligation under the law?
  • As of October 1st, 1997, the FCRA requires that all employers who request background information for pre-employment purposes must have written consent before they begin.  If they make any adverse decision because of the report obtained, the applicant has the right to see the information and contest it if it is wrong.  We provide you with the necessary forms and releases that will assist you in the process.  More information on the FCRA laws can be found at the (www.ftc.gov) web site.
